Pilot: The Honeymoon
Michael Albert Brady, with sons Greg, Peter, and Bobby, marries Carol Martin Tyler, with daughters Marcia, Jan, and Cindy. Following Tiger's destruction of the reception, Mike and Carol leave for a honeymoon, during which they feel guilty for yelling at the kids. Luckily, Alice shows up, with the kids, and everyone is happy.
Episode 1: Dear Libby
The kids are convinced that Mike or Carol wrote a letter to advice columnist Dear Libby. Dear Libby shows up and clears everything up and everyone is happy.
Episode 2: A Clubhouse Is Not A Home
The girls and boys fight over the backyard clubhouse. Eventually a second clubhouse is built, but dumb-ass Bobby removed the nails that held the boys' house together. The boys are forced into the girls clubhouse, and the shananigans begin again.
Episode 3: Kitty Karryall Is Missing
Cindy's doll is missing and Bobby is the main suspect. When Booby's kazoo is missing, he subsequently blames Cindy. In one of the most touching scenes in Brady Bunch history, Bobby breaks his piggy bank to but Cindy a new doll. It turns out that the flea-bitten Tiger has stolen both items. They are found in his doghouse and everyone is happy.
Episode 4: Katchoo
Jan is allergic to Tiger. Or so she thinks. She's actually allergic to his flea powder. The problem is solved just in time and everyone is happy.
Episode 5: Eeenie Meenie Mommy Daddy
Cindy lands the role of the fairie princess in the school play. Unfortunately, she can only bring her mommy or her daddy. She contemplates quitting the play, but the school decides to put on a special show, exclusively for the Brady gang. Needless to say, everyone is happy. (Note: One of Cindy's friends in the episode is Chris from the boooo! Partridge Family.)
Episode 6: Alice Doesn't Leave Here Anymore
Alice begins to feel unwanted as Carol is now the main female influence in the Brady household. In order to retain her "services", the family acts like a bunch of nitwits and convinces Alice to stay.
Episode 7: Father of the Year
Marcia enters Mike in a Father of the Year contest. However, she must sneak out of the house at midnight to get the entry in the mail. Mike grounds her from going on the ski trip. In the end, the newspaper presents Mike with the award, he forgives Marcia, and everyone is happy.
Episode 8: The Grass Is Always Greener
Mike and Carol switch places, with Mike helping with a cooking lesson, and Carol teaching the boys how to play baseball.
Episode 9: Sorry, Right Number
The kids run up huge bills on the phone, prompting Mike to install a pay phone. While this is a rather boring episode, it does mark the debut of Sam "the Butcher" Franklin.
Episode 10: Is There a Doctor in the House
All the kids get the measles, and a crisis develops as the family must choose between the girls' woman doctor and the boys' male doctor. There's a classic scene as Jan believes she's about to be molested by Dennis (the Menace) Mitchell's father (who's playing the male doctor). Incidentally, the girls' doctor is none other than Mrs. C from Happy Days.
Episode 11: 54-40 And Fight
The neighborhood trading stamp company is going out of business, and the Brady's must decide what to do with their 94 books. This leads to the classic House of Cards contest which ends when Tiger wrecks the house. The girls end up compromising and bring home a beautiful TV for the whole family to use.
Episode 12: A-Camping We Will Go
The whole clan goes camping, and the usual hijinks follow. Great scene as the girls use the shadow of a scary, scary bear to scare the boys out of their tent.
Episode 13: Vote For Brady
Greg versus Marcia for school president. Marcia delivers one of her finest crying performances to date, and eventually withdraws from the race, allowing Greg to win.
Episode 14: Every Boy Does It Once
No, they're not referring to that! Bobby contemplates running away because his evil stepmother Carol is apparently mistreating him. In the end, Mike and Carol convince Bobby he is loved and he decides to stay.
Episode 15: The Voice of Christmas
Only seen once a year in syndication. Carol is scheduled to sing "O Come, All Ye Faithful" at Christmas morning services. She loses her voice, but thanks to Cindy's deal with Santa Claus, Carol remarkably recovers in time to perform as scheduled.
Episode 16: Mike's Horror-Scope
As predicted in his horoscope, and much to Carol's chagrin, Mike begins work on a project with Beebe Gallini, a foxy, Sixty-ish version of Zsa Zsa Gabor.
Episode 17: The Undergraduate
Greg gets a major case of the screaming thigh-sweats for his teacher. His grades begin to suffer, until her boyfriend, immortal Dodger great Wes Parker? cuts a deal with Greg in hopes of upping his grades.
Episode 18: To Move Or Not To Move
Mike puts the house up for sale. The kids save it by "haunting" it. A very drab episode.
Episode 19: Tiger! Tiger!
Tiger runs away from home, and the clan starts a massive search to find him. Of course, Tiger hadn't run away, but had knocked up some female dog and kept her company until she gave birth. (Note: This is not the original Tiger. The original had been run over by a car and died.)
Episode 20: Brace Yourself
Marcia gets braces and is ugly, ugly, ugly! Her date Alan dumps her, but shows up at her house on dance night with braces of his own, and off they go. We can only imagine what happened after that.
Episode 21: The Big Sprain
Carol is out of town, and Alice sprains her ankle on Chinese Checkers. Mike handles the crisis responsibly by making the kids do all the chores. Chaos ensues, but everything turns out alright.
Episode 22: The Hero
Peter becomes a hero by grabbing a young girl before a wall of a toy store falls on her. Peter's head swells and he throws a party for himself, which no one attends. The fat kid's rejection of Peter is classic.
Epidsode 23: Lost Locket, Found Locket
Jan receives a mysterious locket through the mail. She searches for the sender and temporarily loses it. In the end, it turns out to be Alice, feeling sorry for herslf because she's 55 and unmarried and will never have kids, who sent the locket.
Episode 24: The Possible Dream
Cindy gives away Marcia's diary which contains Marcia's deepest, dirtiest fantasies about Desi Arnaz, Jr. Of course, Desi shows up at the house at the end and everyone is happy.
Episode 25: Going, Going...Steady
Marcia goes steady with Harvey Klinger (a.k.a. "The Bog Boy"). The parents think they are too young for such commitment, and Harvey backs out. By episode's end, Marcia (the little trollop that she is) has a new beau--Lester.
Episode 26: The Dropout
Don Drysdale guests on this episode, and prompts Greg to ignore his school commitments. Greg gets shellacked during a Little League game and decides that maybe he should strive to do better in the classroom.
Episode 27: The Babysitters
Greg and Marcia babysit for the rest of the clan. Mike and Carol are extremely worried, come home early, and are nearly arrested.
Episode 28: The Treasure of Sierra Avenue
Bobby and the guys find $1,100 playing football. Unfortunately, some old prune named Mr. Stoner shows up and claims the money.
Episode 29: The Un-Underground Movie
Greg attempts to make a movie about the pilgrims using the family as his cast. In today's society, the episode would be criticized for its savage portrayal of Native Americans and Alice's transvestital portrayal of Massachusetts Governor John Carver.
Episode 30: The Slumber Caper
Easily one of the top 5 episodes of all time. Too many plot twists to mention. The boys haunt the party, Mr. Brady gets covered with paint, Marcia gets revenge on a rival, and, of course, the opportunity to see all the Brady girls in their pajamas.
Episode 31: Confessions, Confessions
Mom always said, "Don't play ball in the house!" Peter breaks Carol's favorite vase and fears he won't be able to go on a camping trip.
Episode 32: The Tattletale
Cindy can't keep her lisping mouth shut. She causes a fight between Sam and Alice, but won't squeal on Tiger at the end of the episode. In the end, of course, everything works out.
Episode 33: Call Me Irresponsible
Greg gets a job as a courier for Mike's firm, but twice loses important documents. He manages to track them down the second time, and his perserverance is admired by all.
Episode 34: The Impractical Joker
Jan goes bonkers and starts playing practical jokes on everyone. She hides Greg's mouse Myron, who escapes, and is feared to have been rubbed out by an exterminator. Naturally, the mouse was simply hiding in the place where all Brady objects go to hide: Tiger's doghouse.
Episode 35: A Fistful of Reasons
Peter gets pounded trying to stick up for Cindy. The evil Buddy Hinton is the culprit. Peter learns how to box, does like Foreman, and knocks Buddy Hinton's tooth out, prompting Cindy to sarcastically chant "Baby talk, baby talk, it's a wonder you can walk!"
Episode 36: What Goes Up...
Bobby can't join Peter's treehouse because he's afraid of heights. He falls and sprains his ankle, but miraculously recovers in time to climb the swing set and rescue his pet parakeet.
Episode 37: Coming Out Party
Cindy and Carol develop tonsillitis, jeopardizing the family trip on Mr. Phillips boat. They recover in time and go sailing, the only drawback being Alice's chronic seasickness.
Note from Brent Tucker: Mike had at least 2 bosses during the run of the show. In this episode he was named "Mr. Phillips," but in a later episode (#114) he was "Mr. Matthews." Could be a different boss.
Episode 38: The Not-So-Ugly-Duckling
Jan has a major crush on Clark Tyson, who only has eyes for Marcia. She thinks her freckles are her undoing, but realizes that that's not the case. She invents a boyfriend named George Glass, then gets all dressed up, puts her goods in the window, and impresses Clark enough that they begin to date.
Episode 39: Tell It Like It Is
Carol writes a magazine article about the family. Hum-drum episode with no distinguishing scenes.
Episode 40: The Drummer Boy
Peter's teased by his football team because he's in the glee club. Luckily, Deacon Jones shows up and sets the team straight. Meanwhile, Bobby gets cut from the glee club and takes up drumming, which he soon dismisses in favor of the bugle.
Episode 41: Where There's Smoke
Another member of the Brady Top 5. Jan and Cindy catch Greg smoking, although he swears he only tried a puff. A pack later falls out of Greg's jacket, but it turns out the jacket belonged to Tommy, the son of the head of the local anti-smoking foundation. All is forgiven and the Brady's continue on in their happy ways.
Episode 42: Will The Real Jan Brady Please Stand Up
Jan is upset about being the middle of three blond-haired girls. She buys a dark wig in order to change her image. She goes to Lucy Winters party and is laughed out of the place. They apologize, Jan returns to the party, and the fun begins again.
Episode 43: Our Son, The Man
Greg moves out of the boys' room and sets up a swinging bachelor pad in Mike's den. The room is straight out of The Doors. Greg soon realizes the error of his ways and moves back into the bedroom and drops his hippie image.
Episode 44: The Liberation of Marcia Brady
Marcia, in a push for women's lib, joins the Frontier Scouts, prompting Peter to join the Sunflower Girls. Marcia impresses the Scout's leaders by completing a nature hike in record time, forcing everyone to conclude that girls can do things as well as men can.
Episode 45: Lights Out
Cindy goes nuts when she sees a magician to the old disappearing person in a box trick. When budding-magician Peter is in dire need of an assistant for his act, Cindy overcomes her fears and successfully disappears during Peter's act.
Episode 46: The Winner
Bobby realizes he is the only Brady without a trophy and takes to wearing a donkey mask around the house. As a last-ditch effort, he enters an ice-cream eating contest, which he loses, but is awarded a trophy by the family for trying so hard.
Episode 47: Double Parked
Woodland Park is about to be destroyed to make room for a courthouse designed by Mike. Hatred rips through the Brady household, as Mike is villified. He comes up with a compromise plan, one which leaves everybody happy.
Episode 48: Alice's September Song
Mark Millard, a blast from Alice's past, returns and lays claim to his favorite housekeeper. He tries to con her out of her money, but thanks to Mike and his connections to the F.B.I., the plan is foiled. Furthermore, Sam restakes his claim to Alice by knocking out the devious Mr. Millard using a frozen leg of lamb.
Episode 49: Ghost Town U.S.A.
One of two multi-part episodes. The family heads to the Grand Canyon, but stops for a night in a Ghost Town, where they are imprisoned by Thurston Howell, III (Jim Backus playing the evil prospector Zaccariah). Mike's ingenuity gets them out of the mess, and Part 1 ends with Mike and Peter going searching for help.
Episode 50: Grand Canyon or Bust
Mike makes a triumphant return into the Ghost Town, driving the family's beautiful Vista Cruiser. They get to the Canyon, take their classic mule ride to the bottom, and set up camp. But alas, Bobby and Cindy are missing. The family begins a search, with the scene of Carol in the desert screaming for the kids ending Part 2.
Episode 51: The Brady Braves
Cindy and Bobby, still lost, are befriended by Jimmy Pakaya, who is running away from his grandfather and his old ways. Cindy and Bobby are reunited with their family and Jimmy is reunited with his grandfather and everyone is happy.
Episode 52: Juliet Is the Sun
Marcia gets a big head when cast as the lead in Romeo & Juliet. Her Shannon Doherty-like tantrums on the set cause her to be dismissed from the play, though she winds up back in it, in a reduced role.
Episode 53: The Wheeler Dealer
Greg finally gets a car, but it's a lemon. He quickly tries to resell it in this lemon of an episode.
Episode 54: The Personality Kid
Peter fears he has no personality, and experiments with several "new" ones, including Humphrey Bogart. He throws a party to show off his new comedic personality, but is upstaged by his peers.
Episode 55: Her Sister's Shadow
Jan develops another of her neurotic personality disorders and becomes insanely jealous of Marcia. Jan finally does something Marcia never did by winning an essay contest. It turns out that the judges misadded Jan's score, so, as usual, Jan ended up with nothing.
Episode 56: The Teeter-Totter Caper
Bobby and Cindy attempt to set the world teeter-totter record in order to prove that they're grown-ups.
Episode 57:My Sister Benedict Arnold
When Marcia dates Greg's archrival Warren Mulaney, Greg responds by dating Marcia's foe, Kathy Lawrence. In the end, Kathy dates Warren and Greg and Marcia are forced to go to the carnival with each other.
Episode 58: The Private Ear
Peter eavesdrops using Mike's recorder. Greg and Marcia play a prank by leaving word of a surprise party for Peter on the tape. Mike and Carol save the day by having a party for Peter as everyone learns a lesson in proper behavior.
Episode 59: And Now a Word From Our Sponsor
The Brady's are put in a commercial for soap, but are eventually fired because they run around acting like idiots.
Episode 60: Click
When Greg suffers a bruise playing football, he quits and takes to photographing the team, and his sexy new girlfriend Linette.
Episode 61: The Not-So-Rose-Colored Glasses
Jan gets glasses, but is wary of wearing them. She mistakenly crashes her bike through a portrait of the family which is a gift for Carol. She gets a new picture taken, but wears her glasses in the new one, so Mike knows some kind of shenanigans took place.
Episode 62: Little Big Man
Bobby's upset because he's a shrimp. He tries to grow, first physically, then mentally. His lack of height pays off when he and Greg are locked in Sam's meat locker and Bobby must go through a window to save them.
Episode 63: Getting Davy Jones
Another Top 5 episode. Marcia tries to get Davy Jones to perform at her prom, but even her best schemes fall short. Davy shows up at the Brady place and agrees to perform, provided Marcia is his date. And, as we know by now, Marcia is more than willing to accomodate.
Episode 64: Dough Re Mi
The gang wants to record a song, but is troubled as Peter hits puberty mid-episode. The result is a song called Time To Change, using Peter's voice as an integral part of the song.
Episode 65: The Big Bet
No, the title does not refer to a European soft-porn movie starring Sylvia Kristel. Bobby and Greg bet on how many chinups they can do. Bobby wins and forces Greg to take him on Greg's date with Rachel. Bobby ends up putting a hole through the convertible roof and learning a valuable lesson.
Episode 66: Jan's Aunt Jenny
Jan finds a picture in the attic that looks strikingly like herself. It turns out to be the eccentric Aunt Jenny (played by Imogene Coca, better know as Aunt Edna in National Lampoon's Vacation.
Episode 67: Cindy Brady, Lady
"Cynthia" Brady acts grown up and attracts a secret admirer, who turns out to be Bobby.
Episode 68: The Power of the Press
Peter "Scoop" Brady works on the school paper and tries to butter up his teacher by writing nice things about him.
Episode 69: Sergeant Emma
Ann B. Davis takes on a second role as Alice's cousin in this episode. Cousin Emma turns the Brady house into a military state, and comedy naturally follows.
Episode 70: The Fender Benders
The Brady's must go to court because of a traffic accident between Carol and Uncle Fester Addams (Jackie Coogan).
Episode 71: My Fair Opponent
Marcia turns her homely friend Molly into a real vixen. Molly outclasses Marcia and is selected Banquet Night hostess. As could be expected, cooler heads prevail and the banquet ends up with co-hostesses.
Episode 72: Hawaii Bound
The next three episodes as a unit are Top 5 material. The Brady's go to Hawaii where the boys uncover the cursed "tabu".
Episode 73: Pass the Tabu
The curse of the tabu strikes almost all family members and the boys decide to return it to its resting place.
Episode 74: The Tiki Caves
The boys return the tiki to the burial caves, where they are confronted by the meniacal Professor Whitehead (Vincent Price)
Episode 75: Today I Am a Freshman
Marcia is nervous about high school, joins a lot of clubs, and tries to get into a snobbish sorority-type club (excuse the redundancy). The girls are turned off to Marcia when Peter's mock volcano spews mud all over them.
Episode 76: Cyrano de Brady
The Brady Bunch sinks to an all-time low by using a plotline used by almost every other sitcom in existence. You should be able to figure the plot, so I won't bore you with it.
Episode 77: Fright Night
The boys and girls play ghoulish pranks on each other in this spooky episode which culminates with Alice smashing a model of Mike's head into a billion pieces.
Episode 78: Career Fever
Mike mistakenly believes that Greg wants to follow in his footsteps as an architect. The other kids also state career plans, though Greg is encouraged to find an alternative line of work.
Episode 79: Law and Disorder
Bobby becomes a safety monitor and puts the whole family on report . He learns that sometimes rules are meant to be broken, as he enters an abandoned building to find the cat of an attractive fellow student.
Episode 80: Jan, the Only Child
Jan wants to be an only child, so the others oblige by excluding her from all their activities.
Episode 81: The Show Must Go On??
Marcia & Carol and Greg & Mike appear at the school's Family Night Frolics.
Episode 82: You Can't Win 'Em All
Bobby, the dumb-ass, is rejected by a TV game show that Cindy was selected for. Cindy, with the traditional Brady Swollen Head, goes on TV but freezes, proving once again that what goes around, comes around.
Episode 83: Goodbye, Alice, Hello
When the kids feel they can't trust her anymore, Alice leaves and becomes a waitress, only to be brought back by the kids who realize how much they love her.
Episode 84: Love and the Older Man
Marcia is infatuated with her dentist and schemes of ways to get close to him. Through a series of misunderstandings, Marcia is hurt, but learns a valuable lesson in love.
Episode 85: Everyone Can't Be George Washington
Peter tries desperately to get out of the school play when he's cast as the hated American traitor, Benedict Arnold.
Episode 86: Greg's Triangle
Greg must decide between his luscious girlfriend Jennifer and his luscious sister Marcia in a cheerleader competition. He chooses a third candidate, which leave both Marcia and Jennifer rather mad at him.
Episode 87: Bobby's Hero
Bobby upsets everyone by idolizing Jesse James. In a gory dream sequence, we see the whole Brady clan viciously shot to death. Only the appearance of a Frank Perdue-like gentleman, whose father was killed by James, straightens Bobby out.
Episode 88: The Great Earring Caper
Cindy loses mom's earrings and Detective Peter tries to solve the case. Not a good episode, but an absolutley delicious vision of Carol in her Cleopatra outfit.
Episode 89: Greg Gets Grounded
Greg gets grounded for sloppy driving. He interprets his parents edicts by using their exact words. He takes Rachel to a drive-in, but his attempt for some lovin' is thwarted by Peter's frogs.
Episode 90: The Subject Was Noses
The final entrant in the Top 5. This is the episode where Peter's errant hook shot breaks Marcia's nose, forcing her to cancel her date with the B.M.O.C., Spider-Man (Nicholas Hammond played Spiderman on CBS in 1978).
Episode 91: How to Succeed in Business?
Peter gets a job repairing bikes, but is incompetent at using a wrench, so he gets fired, just the first of many jobs he'll lose.
Episode 92: Amateur Night
In order to buy a gift for their parents, "The Silver Platters" go on a TV show and perform "It's A Sunshine Day." They lose, but Mike and Carol catch the program and spend the money to get the gift.
Episode 93: You're Never Too Old
Horrendous episode where Mike and Carol take on second roles as their own grandparents. Blechhh!
Episode 94: A Room at the Top
Greg and Marcia battle for the attic. Peter and Bobby try to scheme Marcia out of it, and Marcia eventually allows Greg to have it.
Episode 95: Snow White and the Seven Bradys
The Brady's stage a lavish production of Snow White to raise money for a retiring teacher.
Episode 96: Mail Order Hero
Cindy writes a letter to Joe Namath in an attempt to get him to visit the "ill" Bobby. Very similar to Diff'rent Strokes episode where Muhammed Ali visits Arnold.
Episode 97: The Elopement
The family mistakenly believe that Alice and Sam are about to elope. This reminds me of my favorite joke: Why do all melons get married? Becaue they can't elope.
Episode 98: Adios, Johnny Bravo
A conniving record producer makes Greg into Johnny Bravo, until Greg comes to his senses and nixes the deal. (Note: Tami in this episode was the 1970 Playmate of the Year.)
Episode 99: Never Too Young
Bobby may have gotten the mumps by hooking up with Millicent. Fortunately, he didn't get them and he was able to go to the Roaring '20's party with the rest of the family.
Episode 100: Peter and the Wolf
Peter turns into the moustached Phil Packer in order to impress an older woman. The scheme is foiled as the girls realize they've been duped, and Greg and Peter manage to embarass the family in front of their parents' guests from Mexico.
Episode 101: Getting Greg's Goat
Greg steals a rival school's mascot, a goat named Raquel. He's foiled by the school principal, who is lenient on Greg because he did the same as a boy.
Episode 102: The Cincinnati Kids
The Brady's go to an amusement park in Cincy, and the expected hijinks ensue.
Episode 103: Quarterback Sneak
Marcia's newest squeeze is after more than her lovin': he wants Greg's football playbook.
Episode 104: Marcia Gets Creamed
Marcia gets hired at an ice cream shop. Peter gets hired at an ice cream shop. Marcia fires Peter. Marcia hires Jan. Jan's better than Marcia. Marcia gets fired. Somehow, in the end, everyone is happy.
Episode 105: My Brother's Keeper
Peter becomes Bobby's slave after the younger Brady saves Peter's life. As usual, Bobby takes advantage of Peter, but learns a valuable lesson.
Episode 106: Try, Try Again
Jan sucks at doing everything, and thinks she's good at tap-dancing. She naturally drives the family nuts, and hilarious hijinks result.
Episode 107: Kelly's Kids
Horrific episode where a neighborhood family tries to adopt three boys of mixed ethnicities and have to deal with racism in Bradyland.
Episode 108: The Driver's Seat
Greg and Marcia make a bet on who's a better driver. Marcia wins, so Greg must do her chores.
Episode 109: Miss Popularity
Jan promises the world to her classmates in order to be most popular girl. When her promises come up empty, she is forced to make a humbling acceptance speech in front of the whole school.
Episode 110: Out of This World
Greg plays a prank and gets dumb-ass Bobby to believe there are aliens in the backyard.
Episode 111: Two Pete's in a Pod
Peter and his lookalike connive to play tricks on the family, but the plans backfire when Peter has two dates in a night and his lookalike falls ill.
Episode 112: Welcome Aboard
Oliver joins the cast as the family's nephew. This is truly a blight on the whole series.
Episode 113: The Snooperstar
Cindy snoops around Marcia's diary and believes that she may be the next Shirley Temple.
Episode 114: The Hustler
Bobby wants to forsake school in order to become pool champion of the world.
Note from Brent Tucker: This episode contained Mike's second "boss," named "Mr. Matthews" rather than "Mr. Phillips" as cited earlier.
Episode 115: Top Secret
Bobby and Oliver believe that Mr. Brady is an undercover G-man battling against Sam, the evil double-agent.
Episode 116: The Hair-Brained Scheme
Through the efforts of dumb-ass Bobby and Oliver, Greg's hair turns orange right before graduation.
